The Arewa Consultative Forum has condemned the FG's action in
withdrawing the security detail attached to the speaker of the House
of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal.
The Arewa Consultative Forum has described the removal of the security
detail as illegal and unconstitutional.
The Nasarawa State capital, the secretary general of the forum,
Anthony Sani while speaking to Premium Times in Lafia, the Nasarawa
State said FG's action was very unnecessary as he said the federal
government had the mandate to ensure a just and free society.Sani who
said the FG's action in removing in the security detail attached to
the speaker was trying to cause confusion in Nigeria. He further in
case of any breakdown in law and order both parties should be blamed.
According to Sani:"If he is still the Speaker and the security details
have been removed, it is illegal but if he is not the Speaker the
action is alright".
"The ruling party has a lot of responsibility to make sure that this
country has order and direction and certain national ideals as well as
moral values because that is the place they are supposed to focus
attention on; that is creating good attitude and more values for the
whole country but anything to the contrary is incorrect."
It was reported today, security details attached to the Speaker of
the House of Representatives Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has been
reportedly withdrawn by the Federal Government.
Meanwhile Aminu Tambuwal has reacted to the removal of his security
details in a statement by the speaker's media aide, Imam Imam on
Thursday saying:
"As the number four citizen in the hierarchy of protocol in the
country, the Speaker is entitled to security protection by the
security agencies, therefore we see the action of the Acting Inspector
General of Police as not only contempt of the courts but a ploy to
bring harm to the person of Rt. Hon Aminu Waziri Tambuwal".
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has since condemnedthe Federal
Government's action in withdrawing Tambuwal's security details.
