Party members ended with at least 12 people injured and eight vehicles
vandalised on Thursday in Nasarawa State.
According to the Punch, the incident was provoked by the attack on one
of the governorship aspirants in Nasarawa State, Alhaji Yusus Agabis'
car in convoy who was heading to the PDP secretariat at about 1pm on
Thursday.
A group of ardent PDP supporters immediately pounced on a vehicle
belonging to the APC and a massive fight broke out. It was gathered
that at least 12 people sustained sustained varying degrees of
injuries and eight vehicles were vandalised.
The situation, that lasted for several hours, led to a heavy traffic
on the Jos-Makurdi road, leaving commuters, travelling through Lafia
to Makurdi, Enugu, Kano, Kaduna and Federal Capital Territory,
stranded for hours.
One of the vexed passengers, Musa Haruna, who stuck in a traffic jam
as well as others, wondered how hoodlums could take the law into their
hands in the name of political rallies.
